Archbishop Joseph Naumann has announced in last week's Leaven that dispensation from attending Mass will be lifted on the Feast of The Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ (Corpus Christ) which is the weekend of June 5-6 in the Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS. The dispensation will still be in place for the elderly, those who are immune- compromised, those who are sick, etc. The decision comes as COVID-19 vaccines have become increasingly available and parishes across the archdiocese have been welcoming parish- ioners back in increasing numbers.
As Catholics, Sunday Mass is not only an obligation but a great privilege and should never be missed without a good reason. We are blessed that the doors of our churches are open, that Masses and other services are being offered and that normal Catholic life has resumed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in making our parish church a safe place for worship and a place of welcome for all.
